Fallon hoping for a True test in Dante trial
FRESH from landing yesterday's Oaks trial at York, Kieren Fallon is hoping to repeat the dose today in the last of the Derby trials, the Dante Stakes.
Godolphin's True Story is the colt Fallon is hoping to partner on the Knavesmire, but his participation hinges on the ground drying out.
This is the final established trial for Epsom and a second chance this season to assess the credentials of the highest-profile colt to emerge as a threat to the solid Ballydoyle favourite, Australia.
Significantly, the official going at York was changed during yesterday's Musidora card, and Fallon believes it will be suitable today for True Story's biggest test.
"If it continues to dry, it will be perfect," the jockey reported. "Of course, we want to run. This is the best trial for any Derby, and he's in great form at home."
Fallon has been capturing headlines in the big races and his new link with Godolphin was made public only a week ago. True Story has won two of his three starts and a win would add to his reputation.
