Today's meeting at Exeter has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track. Course officials made the straightforward call after having moved forward their intended inspection.
Heavy rain yesterday put paid to any notion of the fixture being given the green light. "It's so frustrating," said Exeter clerk of the course, Barry Johnson. "We were raceable at 9.0 this morning," he said yesterday. "But in the last couple of hours we've had 18 millimetres of rain, with another 50mm forecast. You can't beat the weather, unfortunately."
Concerns were also expressed yesterday for the Navan track. Officials called a precautionary inspection for 8.0 this morning.
