Gordon Elliott has booked rising star Jack Kennedy for Vercingetorix in his bid to claim a third Ladbroke Hurdle victory since 2012 at Ascot tomorrow.

The exceptional Co Meath handler took his aggregate jumps tally for Ireland and Britain this term to 100 when Whistle Dixie initiated a brace for him at Navan on Monday.

Elliott could add to that figure with Woodford Island or De Plotting Shed at Ascot today and he has four entered there tomorrow.

Vercingetorix is among 21 final declarations for the Ladbroke - a prestigious £150,000 handicap that he combined with Davy Condon to plunder in 2012 with Cause Of Causes and Bayan last year.

Vercingetorix has been allotted 10st 11lb, with Kennedy taking five pounds off that. David Mullins will claim three pounds off Willie Mullins's Clonmel winner Noble Inn (11st 3lb), while his cousin Danny will partner Renneti (11st 9lb) for their esteemed uncle.

Barry Geraghty is on Noel Meade's Waxies Dargle, with Mark Walsh due to partner JP McManus's other runner, the Eddie Harty-trained Sort It Out.

Renneti and Sort It Out are the lowest priced of the raiding party at odds of around 12/1.

Elliott has booked Davy Russell for the mount on Taglietelle in the Long Walk Hurdle that features the return to hurdling of Paul Nicholls' Saphir Du Rheu and David Pipe's Dynaste, which Tom Scudamore has got off to partner Colin Tizzard's Thistlecrack.
