DO THE DOUBLE

Wexford were the last team to beat Kilkenny in Leinster back in 2004 and the Model county will be hoping to cause an upset once again this evening when the Cats come to town for their championship opener. Wexford have shown impressive form against Cork and Tipp of late and they're sure to give it their all in front of a home crowd; although a quick look at the manpower of both squads suggests that Kilkenny are still a class apart here, despite a confidence-smashing defeat to Dublin in the league final. That said, this is a banana skin for the visitors and it should be close, so a chance is taken on the handicap bet giving Wexford a seven-point start, priced around even-money.

Arnold Lane must concede weight to the field in theToteswinger More Ways To Win EBF Novice Stakes at Bath this afternoon (3.25), but the Footstepsinthesand colt should be up to the task, based on his win first time out at Leicester. He looked a bit green when hanging left at Beverley last time, but he remains open to improvement and is worth a couple of shillings at 11/8 or thereabouts. Of the challengers, Red Hearts is a speedy sort that will enjoy the trip and could make Arnold Lane work for his money.

Last week's double was successful on both legs at an overall price of just under 2/1.
