Tchico Polos hit 1/2 in-running last time at Sandown but Punchestowns had that little bit extra so Paul Nicholls' six-year-old had to settle for silver. Nonetheless, he's an extremely useful novice and with no stand-out stars to contend with today, he should take all the beating priced around evens (4.15 Sandown).

RUGBY:

Defeat in Paris seems to have given the Irish a kick in the behind and all credit to the lads for a gutsy performance against England at Twickenham. Today's Croke Park clash with Wales looks a good deal easier than their latest two games and Ireland to win is a confident selection around 30/100 (Stan James).
