Aidan O'Brien's American import Darwin got his career back on track with victory in the Belgrave Stakes at Fairyhouse.

Joseph O'Brien kicked clear entering the final furlong but the 2/1 favourite was clinging on at the finish before getting home by a short head from Russian Soul.

It was the second leg of a double for the O'Briens, having earlier struck with Cape Clear Island (1/5 favourite) which held on on by a nose from Windsor Beach.

Ger Lyons' Greek Canyon (11/2) battled back gamely for Colin Keane to beat Kiss The Stars by a short head in the six-furlong handicap. Dermot Weld's Emerita took the fillies' maiden under Pat Smullen, while Teorim struck for Jim Bolger and Ronan Whelan in the apprentice contest.
