Coolmore splash for unbeaten Shanghai Bobby

COOLMORE Stud have purchased a 50pc interest in the unbeaten Shanghai Bobby ahead of his run in the Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita on Saturday.

The Todd Pletcher-trained two-year-old is a leading fancy for the Grade One over an extended mile.

He has won all his four starts for Starlight Racing and will now race in the name of Starlight, Sue Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith.

Winner on his debut at Aqueduct in April, then at Belmont in June, the Harlan's Holiday colt has gone to score at Grade Two and Grade One level.

"They are in partnership and management decisions will be made by both partners," Starlight managing director Jack Wolf told www.bloodhorse.com.

"This horse has done everything we have asked of him. I am flattered they want to be in business with us.

"This is a partnership that could not have happened without Todd.

"This is a good deal for them and for us."
