Sky Sports star and Irish Independent columnist Rachel Wyse brings the style to Cheltenham

It may be seen as a male dominated festival, but a host of fashion-forward women have taken over Cheltenham today with the annual Ladies Day now in full swing.

Leading the way in the style stakes is Dublin native, Sky Sports presenter and Irish Independent columnist Rachel Wyse, who looks sophisticated chic in head to toe Cheltenham tweed.

This year's festival ambassador finished off her look with a quirky hat, which covered her blonde locks.

She said that she had been won over by the tweed trend, which she toned down by sporting a plain cream dress and accessorised with a gold Boodles chain.

“I think I would definitely wear it again after Cheltenham, it is something quite different and you can add your own spin to it,” Rachel told Independent.ie.

The London-based TV presenter is helping to judge the fashion at this year's Ladies Day and entries have been flooding in since early morning, with Leitrim milliner Jennifer Wrynne among the lovely ladies hoping to be crowned best dressed.

“I am looking for someone who has their own take on elegant style and who is not afraid to do their own thing, but is warm and comfortable at the same time," explained 28-year-old Rachel.

“Because it can get very chilly and you need to enjoy your day too,”  she added.
