Sizing John gets his lap of honour in Moone tonight
The Gold Cup winner Sizing John will lead a parade of Jessica Harrington's three Cheltenham Festival winners in Moone Village, Co Kildare, today at 6pm.
Sizing John's 7/1 victory in the Cheltenham Festival's showpiece was a first in the championship contest for trainer Jessica Harrington, jockey Robbie Power and owners Ann and Alan Potts.
He was a clear-cut winner of jumping's blue riband race sponsored after a patient ride by Power.
Sizing John was already a hero and the seven-year-old has now completed the English-Irish Gold Cup double in style.
Jessica's three 2017 festival winners brings her tally to 11 festival winners in total and she is the most successful female trainer in the Cheltenham festival history.
"Sizing John has gone from two miles at Christmas to winning three miles and two furlongs here.
"He jumped like a buck and it's his jumping that got him there the whole way," Jessica said after the race.
Brian Kavanagh, CEO of Horse Racing Ireland, said: "The Harrington team are one of the most popular in Irish racing and for Jessie and her staff to win the Gold Cup with her first runner, perfectly ridden by Robbie Power, is something to really celebrate."
Sizing John will be joined for the parade tonight by Rock The World which won the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Handicap Chase Winner on St Patrick's Day and Supasundae which won The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle.
