Seamus McGowan has assumed the lead in the Independent.ie Cheltenham Fantasy Game leaderboard after a strong performance today.

His score of 997.25 points so far is enough to top the standings but he stands just 20.75 points ahead of Kevin Killilea, with third placed Dean Barow on 972.

The top performer today was Mr Broderick who amassed 718 points on what was a tough day for punters.

The Herald's Niall Cronin remains the leading expert on a score of 754 points and is in 34th position overall.
