ATTAGLANCE PIPS TONER IN MARTIN PIPE

Attaglance on his way to victory

Attaglance stayed on best of all to land the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

Malcolm Jefferson landed the Pertemps Final with Cape Tribulation on Thursday and he made it a double for the week with the six-year-old who stormed up the hill under Harry Haynes.

Toner D'Oudaries looked all over the winner when jumping the last three lengths clear without being fully extended, but he idled in front before coming back for a second bite of the cherry when headed.

However, he was a neck away from the winner at the line in a thrilling finish, with Oscar Nominee another neck back in third.

Make A Track was fourth at 12/1.

Jefferson said: "He's a lovely horse and he had good, late form. "He's a gutsy horse - he's tough, genuine and easy to train.

"I honestly thought we had a hell of a chance and Harry has given him a great ride.

"There'll be something for him at Aintree now."

Haynes, who has won the Rowland Meyrick Chase and Peter Marsh Chase aboard Jefferson's According To Pete this season, said: "I can't believe it.

"The way things have worked out for me this last year, from being down and out to being in here, it's amazing.

"Mr Jefferson has been putting me on some nice horses and they've been doing the job.

"I won on this lad at Market Rasen the last day and I can't believe the way he's run up the hill - he's kept galloping and wanted it all the way.

"I thought the yard might have used up all out luck on Friday but thankfully the horses are in good form.

"There was no stopping him."
