Book open on O'Brien jockey
A LEADING bookmaker has opened a book on who will be the next stable jockey at Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle after Johnny Murtagh.
William Hill installed Pat Smullen as favourite at 6/4 after receiving "a number of requests for the market".
Christophe Soumillon is the 7/2 second favourite to get the job, while O'Brien's son Joseph is next in the betting at 5/1. Other candidates include Ryan Moore (11/2), Richard Hughes (7/1) and Olivier Peslier.
"We received a number of requests for the market on Sunday morning. It was a bit of a surprise because Johnny is doing such a great job at Ballydoyle," said Hill spokesman Tony Kenny.
