In an article published in the sports section of the Sunday Independent of the 15th August, we incorrectly stated that Emmett Butterly -- a publicly licenced racehorse trainer had been charged by the Turf Club with running a horse in a flapper meeting, contrary to the Turf Club's rules.
We fully accept that not only did Mr Butterly not breach any Turf Club rule, he did not at that time even hold a trainer's licence.
We sincerely regret any injury caused to the reputation and good standing of Mr Butterly, who is showing great potential as a young and recently licenced trainer.
We apologise unreservedly for our error.
