The draw for the third round of the English Derby has thrown up a few very interesting clashes but the highlight is surely Heat 7 where two of the original favourites, Droopys Roddick and Eden The Kid, go head to head.

Pat Buckley's Droopys Roddick hasn't set the Derby on fire yet but connections are very hopeful that he will be getting stronger and stronger with each outing. In contrast, Eden The Kid was promoted to outright favouritism after his strong run in the second round where he came from some lengths behind Ballymac Brogan to win narrowly.

Another very interesting clash is that of Irish Derby champion Ballymac Matt and Buckley's Lenson Sanchez in Heat 3. The early-paced Bubbly Turbo will make this very interesting but the big guns can again survive.

Jaytee Jet can make a statement in Heat 5 where he will have Peter Cronin's Imperial Express and the fast bitch Domino Storm in opposition. Paul Hennessy's other runner Jaytee Dutch will meet another Irish star, Robert Gleeson's Droopys Latina, in Heat 2.

Milldean Puma has been introduced as the favourite for the BoyleSports Race of Champions which commences at Tralee tomorrow. He is only 4/1 with the sponsors but is a 5/1 chance with Paddy Power who have him on the same mark as Leave At Dawn and defending champion Rural Hawaii.

BoyleSports go an eye-catching 7/1 about Tom O'Neill's Gain 600 winner Ballyhooly Henry.
