There was no luck for the Irish at Central Park last night where Droopys Wilbury went off a 4/7 favourite to win the Racing Post Juvenile but things went very wrong for him in the race and he finished third.

He missed the break but got into second on the bend and then challenged at the third bend where he checked and was baulked. The race was won by 12/1 outsider Murrys Act.

Opinions There is a high-class entry and a superb 12-race card is scheduled. Opinions are very much divided as to what will go off favourite in the ante-post list.

New stars will emerge during the competition and many of the runners could fit into that category but the established young stars will take the world of beating.

Our list of dogs against the field would comprise of Peter Cronin's Whoops Jack, Ian Reilly's Burnt Beans, Fraser Black's Vancouver Shea, Paul Hennessy's Jaytee Barracuda, Denis Fitzgerald's Loskeran Vardy, Johnny O'Sullivan's Native Chimes, Graham Holland's Drive On Tipp, Pat Buckley's Droopys Cabaye and JJ Fennelly's Burgess Dubh.
