The Irish Greyhound Board (IGB) yesterday confirmed the appointment of Ger Dollard as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Geraldine Larkin stood down as CEO late last year and was replaced on an interim basis by Dr Sean Brady. The search for a new CEO has been going on for the past few months.

Mr Dollard is currently the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Economic Development of Clare County Council. The Limerick city native has responsibility for the promotion of economic development and tourism in Co Clare. He played a key role in the promotion and development of internationally renowned tourism projects such as the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience and the UNESCO Burren Geopark.

Meanwhile, the draw for the BoyleSports Champion Stakes will be made at Shelbourne Park this morning. There is a high-class field of entries which includes Irish Independent Laurels runner-up Away Jet, Scottish Derby finalists Coolavanny Mason and Good News and Race of Champions winner Killinan Rosie.
