Ardrahan Zindi has the strength to land Limerick final
It is a busy day for Irish greyhounds with important engagements on the home front and in the UK.
The home highlights are the final of the quickPark.ie Limerick Oaks at Limerick and the Curraheen card which features the second round heats of the Riverside Oscar Open and the finals of the National Sales Stakes.
The Limerick decider is a highly unusual fixture as it involves three bitches trained by Liam Dowling and three from the Graham Holland range. One suspects that Dowling's Ballymac Scala may have the superior early pace but that the strength of the Holland runner Ardrahan Zindi (9.55) may carry her to victory.
Both Dowling and Holland will also be strongly represented in the Riverside Oscar Stake and Coolavanny Pet (10.20) may overcome a tough draw to win Heat 4 for Dowling.
Gerry Holian's Beannacht Tadhg (10.05) was very impressive last week and may overcome a bad draw to win Heat 3, while the other fancies are Michael O'Donovan's Lone Bullet (9.05) and Tom Buggy's Kilgraney Ace (9.20).
Tomas Leahy's Barnfield Shadow (9.50) and Lorraine Moore's Race On Elsa (9.35) may take the Sales finals.
There will be four Irish-trained dogs in action in the semi-finals of the RPGTV Scottish Derby at Shawfield this evening, while Holland will have three in action in Derby Trial Stakes at Towcester.
Then tomorrow the full second round of the BIF Produce Stakes will be run at Clonmel with Drive On Razer (7.50) and Clonbrien Hero (8.20) likely winners.
