Colm Campbell might have had a disappointing AIG Irish Amateur Close at Ballyliffin, but he was on top form for Warrenpoint at Portstewart last weekend, where he led his club to victory in the Ulster section of the AIG Barton Shield.

Warrenpoint beat Castlerock by six holes in their semi-final, with holders North West defeating Knock by the same margin over the Strand Course - which will host next year's Dubai Duty Free Irish Open.

Celebrating their 125th anniversary this year, there was no fairy tale win for the Donegal club, as Warrenpoint won the final by four holes. They progress to the AIG Cups and Shields National Finals at Carton House and join Galway Bay (Connacht), Carton House (Leinster) and Cork (Munster) in a battle for the green pennant from September 11-14.
