Tiger's shadow not chasing wedding ring

Press Association

Lindsey Vonn, the Olympic downhill ski champion who has been conspicuous in her presence alongside Tiger Woods this week, has said she has no intention of getting married again.

The 28-year-old, who is divorced from her former coach Thomas Vonn, told Vogue: "No, thanks! I am definitely not getting married. To anyone."

Despite that, Vonn (left), who has followed the world No 1 during his practice rounds, has spoken of the strength of the pair's relationship. "We immediately clicked. We talked a lot, and he was a good friend who was always there. And then it became more."

Woods may not want to be reminded of the furore sparked when he took an incorrect drop at the US Masters earlier this year.

Yet if he was in any doubt as to any regulations at Muirfield, he need only check out a new online course launched by the R&A. The Rules Academy – available at www.randa.org/rulesacademy – is designed to help players and officials improve their knowledge of the rules.

Not letting this week's glorious weather put them off, adidas erected a weather simulator so players Martin Laird and Dustin Johnson could showcase their latest GORE-TEX rainwear at nearby North Berwick. The mechanism did its worst, depositing plenty of water as both took shots from the first tee, but the coats did their job. "I remember playing golf in my rain jacket more than without it as a kid," said Laird. "I wish I had something like this then – but I don't think we'll need it this week."

TWEET OF THE DAY

"jasondufner Nadine and I "dufnering" today after the practice round lol :) #dufnering #britishopen... http://instagram.com/p/b3hy1skTh0/"

– Lindsey Vonn not only bumped into Jason Dufner at Muirfield, but posed with the famously laid-back player for a new 'Dufnering' picture. The 'Dufnering' craze began earlier this year as several players tweeted pictures of themselves slouching in Dufner style.
