Singh turns back clock
VIJAY SINGH rolled back the years with a superb round of 65 to lie one shot off the early pace at The Barclays Championship in New Jersey.
After a double-bogey at the par-three third, the Fijian managed to reach the turn in one-under-par before finding form on the back nine with a run of three consecutive birdies.
Two more birdies on the final two holes left him on six-under-par, one shot behind early clubhouse leader Harrison Frazar who didn't have a bogey in his round.
The first round was interrupted for three hours, 15 minutes due to lightning but, when it got under way, in-form Adam Scott, starting on the 10th, fired five birdies, an eagle and two bogeys on his opening nine before eventually signing for a 66 to lie one stroke behind Singh.
