Rory McIlroy confirmed he is ready to go ahead of the start of the Ryder Cup - by chipping in from all of 120 yards in his final practice round to the delight of his European colleagues.

McIlroy is heading into the 41st Ryder Cup in sensational form after claiming an $11.5m windfall following his win in the PGA Tour Championship and FedEx Cup race last weekend and he confirmed he is ready to go with a brilliant shot in his pre-event warm-up.

European captain Darren Clark has confirmed that he will send his main man McIlroy into action on the opening morning of the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National alongside Andy Sullivan, with the powerhouse American team of Ricky Fowler and Phil Mickelson their opponents in a tasty opening foursome match.

If this shot is anything to go by, McIlroy will be a formidable leader for Europe to rely on this weekend, with his delight as he nearly broke the cup with his inch perfect approach summing up his mood.
