It might not be the best weather for filming an advertisement - but when your sponsors are as generous as Rory McIlroy's, it pays to go out of your way.

After his lacklustre performance at the Irish Open, Rory was back in his home town of Holywood yesterday, where it's believed he was filming for a Nike advert.

Earlier, the World No.1 golfer had been spotted at Bangor Golf Club, although his new girlfriend, American Erica Stoll (29) - who Rory has been seeing for the past six months - was nowhere to be seen.

The 26-year-old Northern Irishman became one of the biggest earners in sporting history when he signed what's understood to be a 10-year, £100 million deal with sports gear giant Nike in 2013.

For that kind of money, it's probably worth braving the wind and wet weather of the Co Down coastline for a few hours.
