Ogilvy seeks more of same
Geoff Ogilvy has made a triumphant start to the PGA Tour for a second year in a row, only this time, the Australian wants to ensure he remains on an even keel for the rest of the season.
Twelve months ago, victory at Kapalua was followed by success at the WGC-Accenture Match Play before he lost his bearings. "I think I've got an awareness of where I kind of went a bit astray last year," Ogilvy said after winning the season-opening SBS Championship on Sunday.
"I never started as well as I did last year and this year it looks like I have started pretty well again too.
"Hopefully, I will sit down and not make the mistakes like I did last year. I think I forced it a little bit when the game went a bit awry, instead of waiting for it to come back," said Ogilvy. "So hopefully I can just be patient and if I have a bad few weeks there, just let it come back."
Ogilvy has now leapfrogged Rory McIlroy into ninth on the world ladder, forcing the 20-year-old back to 10th. The Australian and the Irish youngster both play in next week's Abu Dhabi Championship
