Milltown Girls celebrating magic All Ireland success

Milltown claimed the Girls Interclub All Ireland title with a fine 2.5 to 0.5 win over Enniscrone at Greystones Golf Club.

Georgia Carr got the eventual champions off to a great start with a 6&5 win over Ailbhe Bourke and when Emma Walsh also won 6&5 against Lisa Sweeney, the second match between Ellen O'Gorman and Enniscrone's Sophie Dodd was called in.

Enniscrone had beaten Massereene 2-1 in their semi-final, with Bourke beating Amy Kelly on the 20th in the decisive match, while Milltown proved too strong for Shannon, winning 2.5 to 0.5.

Shannon took third place with sisters Lisa and Leanne O'Shea both winning to give them a 2.5-0.5 win over Massereene.

Semi-finals: Massereene 1 Enniscrone 2. Amy Kelly lost to Ailbhe Bourke 1 up; Emma Houston lost to Sophie Dodd 4&3; Naomi Gordon- Foster beat Lisa Sweeney 5&3.

Shannon Golf Club 0.5 Milltown Golf Club 2.5: Lisa O'Shea lost to Georgia Carr 2&1. Leanne O'Shea halved with Ellen O'Gorman A/S; Ellie Pyke lost to Emma Walsh 5&3.

Third place play-off: Shannon 2.5 Massereene 0.5. Lisa O'Shea beat Amy Kelly 4&2; Leanne O'Shea beat Emma Houston 5&4; Ellie Pyke halved with Naomi Gordon-Foster.

Final: Milltown 2.5 Enniscrone 0.5. Georgia Carr beat Ailbhe Bourke 6&; Ellen O'Gorman halved with Sophie Dodd A/S; Emma Walsh beat Lisa Sweeney 6&5.
