PAUL McGinley reckons he was the last man in Ireland to know Darren Clarke had won the British Open.
"I was away in Indonesia and I missed most of it," McGinley said. "I saw a bit of it in the airport lounge before I left Singapore and Darren was on the ninth hole, so I was probably the last man in Ireland to find out he had won it.
"There was no internet on the plane and I was flying for 12 hours. It was five in the morning when I landed.
"I put on my phone and saw that he had won. I texted him and he answered me straight away."
