McDowell's gift for Dad?
Kenny McDowell was delighted this week when son Graeme confessed he'd not had time to buy him a 60th birthday gift.
"Don't worry about it, son," Kenny quipped. "I'll be more than happy with a Green Jacket next Sunday."
McDowell Snr had a similar conversation with his boy before last year's final round of the US Open at Pebble Beach. Then, he was unable to pick-up a Father's Day gift, but Kenny said he'd settle for the US Open trophy instead!
"Maybe history will repeat itself," said dad with a broad grin.
McDowell -- who pulled out of the Par 3 Competition yesterday to watch Manchester United play Chelsea -- ironed out a few little glitches with coach Pete Cowen last week at his base in Orlando, and his swing has been given the seal of approval by his uncle and first mentor Samuel Loughrey.
"I've never seen him strike the ball as well. Graeme's right back where he was last year," said uncle 'Uel on his first visit to The Masters with friends this week, a 65th birthday gift from his nephew.
Fortified by his world-beating feats in 2010, McDowell's confident he can give mum Marian, dad Kenny and uncle 'Uel another lifetime thrill today when he tees it up with four-times Masters champion Tiger Woods.
