McDowell on Ryder trail

Graeme McDowell looks to recover from his Masters disappointment with a quick bounce-back at the Volvo China Open, at Suzhou Jinji Lake golf club, starting today.

McDowell has travelled to the Far East from the States intent on gaining Ryder Cup points and restoring pride after missing the cut at Augusta last week.

Other Irish challengers in the tournament are Paul McGinley, Shane Lowry, Gareth Maybin and Peter Lawrie.

Australia's Scott Strange (33), who is the defending champion, has taken a large chunk of time off following the birth of daughter Meghan in January.

Players Championship winner Henrik Stenson is the highest ranked player in the field.
