ITALY'S teenage sensation Matteo Manassero was a staggering 17 shots better than his Japanese counterpart and playing companion Ryo Ishikawa yesterday as he blazed into action at his first US PGA Championship with a splendid two-under-par 68.
Manassaro (18) and Ishikawa (19) are the only two teenagers in the field ,which probably explains why they were teamed-up together.
Adam Scott (31) was the other member of an interesting three-ball. Already a two-time winner on the European Tour, the hugely talented gentleman from Verona had six birdies on his card yesterday and is strong-willed enough to keep it going on Day 2.
