MALONE Golf Club was founded in 1895 and has been situated at three previous locations before finally arriving at Ballydrain Estate on the Upper Malone Road in 1961.
Set on 320 acres of lush parkland with stunning mature trees, the centrepiece is a trout lake which extends for over 27 acres.
There are 27 holes -- the Drumbridge, Ballydrain and Edenderry nines, with the first two comprising the normal '18.'
The impressive clubhouse features the Ballydrain Bar, which offers fabulous views over the 18th green and Ballydrain Lake.
Membership in all categories totals £1,500, and the course is very popular with visitors.
Among the prominent members is Rollo McClure, hon treasurer of the GUI, while 2011 captain Bill Miscampbell has also been active on the financial side of the Union.
Lady captain this year is Margaret Gowdy.
On the administration side, Peter Kelly is the club manager; house manager is Sheridan Bryans and Kathy Frazer is the office manager.
Michael McGree is the club's PGA professional, and Michael Norman is the course manager.
