SHANE LOWRY is having the time of his life in the Arizona desert and is banking megabucks into the bargain.
Lowry is already €107,005 richer after following up Thursday's victory over world No 1 Rory McIlroy with a 6&5 second-round hammering of Carl Pettersson which sets up another all-Ireland clash with Graeme McDowell today.
Revelling in the mano-a-mano element of matchplay, Lowry said: "I've enjoyed every minute of the last couple of days and am really looking forward to the next round."
Lowry – who played a lot better against Swede Pettersson than in Thursday's nerve-wracking pipe-opener against his good friend McIlroy – continued: "I struck the ball nicely and think I missed just one fairway."
Though he has tomorrow's first prize of €1.116m in his sights, Lowry needs to win a mere two more matches to reach the semi-finals and burst into the world's elite top 50.
