THE Leinster Ladies Alliance celebrated 60 years in existence this season and though the year started in snow, it ended in sunshine at Woodbrook GC for Clodagh Hopkin's Captain's Day last Friday.

The winner was Lily Owens (5) from Malahide with a 72, while former Curtis Cup player and captain Ita Butler produced the best gross with 79. Runner-up was Patricia Magee (7, Coollattin) with 73. Niamh Giblin (5, Dun Laoghaire) was third with 75.

Match Play winner was Ariana Coyle Diez (Elm Park), who also secured the Schools Leinster title for Teresians.

The Foursomes was won by senior internationals Pat Doran (Donabate) and Sheena McIlroy (Grange) in a tight final at the K Club.

Woodbrook, meanwhile, will host its 36-hole Ladies Scratch Cup on Sunday week. Entries close on Friday. Forms can be down-loaded from the Wood-brook or ILGU websites.
