Lewis left in awe

TOM LEWIS (20), whose stunning 65 on Thursday was the lowest round by an amateur at The Open, left Sandwich last night with the Silver Medallion and his eyes opened by a close-up of Phil Mickelson's short game on Saturday.

Lewis, tied 31st on nine-over (65, 74, 76 ,74), said: "I feel I'm ready (to turn pro) in certain areas but playing with Phil made me feel terrible around the greens. If you're going to go and play with the best in the world, you've got to chip and putt like they do."
