Kelly's a hero

GREAT performance by St Margaret's professional John Kelly to make the cut.
"This is my Major," said Kelly (39) after recovering from a two-over-par opening 73 to shoot 68 and make the cut for the first time in 10 attempts at the Irish Open. He is the only Irishman who is not a full-time Tour player left in the field and gave huge credit to caddie Brendan McGovern.
McGovern, the pro at Headfort, knows how tough it is. He has played 19 times at the Irish Open and made the cut once. He has also caddied seven times in the tournament.
