Joe's killer blow for Templemore in Munster country clubs final

Templemore captured the Munster Country Clubs Cup for the first time in five years at a sun-drenched Lisselan.
The competition, limited to nine hole golf clubs, went all the way to the 18th green before the Tipperary side captured the title with a 4-3 win over Lismore.
The groundwork had already been laid by Seamus Bourke, Tim Tuohy and Tony McGrath, who had all won points for Templemore.
However, it was Joe O'Connor who was the hero of the hour, sending a 60-yard wedge to just four feet before slotting home the birdie putt to beat Lismore's Paul Keneally by one hole.
In the morning semi-finals, Templemore had an impressive 5-2 win over hosts Lisselan, with Bourke, McGrath and Tuohy winning the first three matches.
In the other semi-final, Lismore overcame a tough Ballyheigue Castle 4-3, but only after the last match went all the way to the 20th hole.
