ROYAL Portrush was tipped today to host this year's Irish Open Championship.
The European Tour has called a press conference at the clubhouse tomorrow.
The tournament takes place from 28 June to 1 July.
Portrush previously staged the Open Championship in 1951 and it has also been host to the Seniors Open on a number of occasions. Both Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke are affiliated with the club.
It is seen as the perfect year to shift the Open north of the border with Graeme McDowell, Rory McIIroy and Darren Clarke all winning majors recently.
The course will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2013.
