Ireland's 'Home' dreams rocked by shock defeat

Ireland suffered a shock defeat to Wales in the four-cornered women's Home International series at Hillside to severely dent their chances of a first title since 2004.

They were up against it after losing the foursomes 2-1 and although Slieve Russell's Lisa Maguire won a singles tussle with Amy Boulden, there was not much joy after that and they crashed 6-3.

This hands the advantage to England who overcame Scotland also by a 6-3 margin and only a big victory over the English today can secure them the crown and the prestigious Miller Cup.
