Jack Hume was once again in fine form to help put Europe on the brink of Bonallack Trophy glory against Asia Pacific in Portugal.
Naas man Hume was again victorious in his foursomes, while he and Luca Cianchetti were on the verge of victory in the fourballs when darkness forced play to be suspended - with Europe leading 12.5-6.5.
They will resume this morning three-up with three holes to play.
Victory this morning will put Europe 13.5-6.5 up and needing just 2.5 points from today's 12 singles contests to retain the trophy.
Hume teamed up with David Boote for yesterday's foursomes as they beat Chinese duo Han-Ting Chiu and Chun-An Yu on the last.
Meanwhile Europe's ladies - competing without ill Irish star Olivia Mehaffey - produced a stirring fightback against Asia Pacific on day two to put themselves back in contention to win.
