Harrington lets it slip

AFTER a superb finish to his opening nine holes, Padraig Harrington must have felt somewhat disappointed to finish the opening round of the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston on just two-under-par.
The Dubliner -- starting on the back nine -- birdied 14, 15 , 16 and 18, however, bogeys on both par fives of his back nine saw him sign for a 69.
That leaves him four shots off the lead held by American Troy Matteson who had seven birdies in his 65.
One shot off Matteson is US Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, American Jerry Kelly, former US PGA champion YE Yang as well as world No 1 Luke Donald.
Schwartzel and Yang were not the only reigning Major champions in contention, with US PGA winner Keegan Bradley carding a 68.
He was among a cluster of players on three-under, with fellow American Jim Furyk and Australia's Adam Scott among those one further adrift. Graeme McDowell finished level par.
