Harrington in the hunt

CROWDS flocked to the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am hoping to see the reincarnation of Tiger Woods ... and saw the old Padraig Harrington instead as the Dubliner leapt into a tie for third with a sweet second round 66 on a soft, misty day at Pebble Beach.
Two under after Thursday's opening 68 at Monterey Peninsula, Harrington putted with renewed confidence yesterday, shooting four birdies from the second to the fifth and picking up another at the world-famous short seventh.
Harrington bounced back from a bogey six at 14 with birdies at 15 and 18 to move within four of Charlie Wie's clubhouse lead. Yet he and JP McManus were a whopping 24-under, six clear in the team event.
Phil Mickelson was on seven-under, one behind Harrington, after his 65 at Monterey Peninsula but Tiger's putter went cold as he shot 68 there to lie six-under.
Rebecca Codd missed the cut at the ISPS Handa Australian Open by six strokes after slumping to a second-round 82 at Royal Melbourne yesterday. Women's US Open champion So Yeon Ryu of Korea led by one on six-under-par.
