Early tee-off times for Irish golfers at the Open

Shane Lowry will tee off with Kevin Streelman (USA) and two time US Open winner Retief Goosen of South Africa in the first round of the Open on Thursday.

Ireland's five competitors in the Open Championship at St Andrews will be out early in the first round on Thursday.

Amateur Paul Dunne from Greystones golf club, starts in the second group of the day at 6.43 am alongside former Open champion Todd Hamilton and James Hahn of the USA.

Shane Lowry tees off at 7.49 a.m with Kevin Streelman (USA) and two time US Open winner Retief Goosen of South Africa.

Graeme McDowell, the US Open champion of 2010, plays at 8.22 am with Webb Simpson, who won the US Open in 2012, and amateur Oliver Schniederjan of the USA.

Darren Clarke, Open winner in 2011, is scheduled ror 9.22 am. with Romain Langasque of France, another amateur, and Italy's Matteo Manassero.

Three time Major winner Padraig Harrington has Wenchong Liang of China and Scotland's Marc Warren as his playing partners at 12.39.

Other notable players: Tom Watson 8.33.am; Jordan Speith 9.33 am.; Tiger Woods 9.55 a.m; Phil Mickleson 2.34 pm; Rickie Fowler, 2.45 pm.
