Cork Golf Club added yet another pennant to their impressive collection with a comprehensive seven-hole win over Tramore in the Munster final of the AIG Barton Shield on their home course.
The champions saw off the challenge of holders Limerick by four holes as Tramore had a great win over Tralee, with John Mitchell and Chris Butler recording a six-hole win to get the East Munster side over the line.
The final was set up to be an exciting affair, but Cork were five up by the time the second pairing of Gary O'Flaherty and John Hickey got through the sixth hole, and they refused to let Tramore back into the match.
Mark Ford and Brian Kelleher beat Paul Flynn and Declan King by four holes in the top match and with O'Flaherty and Hickey three up playing the 15th, a half there meant Cork were seven up with six to play.
John Carroll and his squad now face the Ulster champions in Carton House next month.
Castlerock face Warrenpoint and Knock meet North-West in the Ulster semi-finals at Portstewart's Strand Links on Sunday.
