British Open:: Johnson's ace

Dustin Johnson, America's final round fall guy at the US Open and PGA Championship last summer, hit the sweetest pitching wedge into the 163-yard 16th for the first hole-in-one there at the British Open since Gordon J Brand, Roger Chapman and Sam Torrance all aced it in 1981.
The ace came in the middle of a superlative late run by Johnson, who's been suffering with a severe throat infection all week. Three-over through 13, he birdied 14 and 15 before following-up that eagle at 16 with another birdie at 17. He rounded off a highly eventful level-par 70 with bogey at the last.
