Shane Lowry returned home exhilarated by four days playing in paradise but "disappointed" after dropped shots down the stretch at Pebble Beach cost him a place in the top 20.

He needn't be. The Clara man was at a disadvantage to PGA Tour regulars in the National Pro-Am field.

Adding the two courses at Torrey Pines to the three in Monterey last week, Lowry had to 'learn' five new tracks in a fortnight. Eighth in San Diego and 21st last weekend, his earnings this season stand at $253,623.

Lowry needs $850,000 to earn his full card and with the Cadillac at Doral, followed by the Texas Open, US Masters, WGC Match Play and Players, he may hit that target by May.
