a fishy excuse
MARCEL Siem deftly plucked a hoary old chestnut from 'the golfer's book of excuses' and used it for another of his favourite sports -- fishing.
The German had no problems on the course yesterday, shooting 66, but when asked about fishing on the lakes on Wednesday with Austria's Bernd Weisberger he revealed he had caught nothing -- and blamed the equipment.
"We had really bad rods and the line was only three metres long so you couldn't throw it out properly," he moaned.
Problem was that novice fisherman Weisberger caught a fish using the same type of rod and gloated: "I got one and he couldn't get one, so we've got to keep that momentum going."
