A lower league German club has photoshopped their team picture to make their players appear in blackface after two members of the squad were racially abused over Easter.
According to the BBC, Deinster SV posted the image on their Facebook page in support of two Sudanese players, Emad Babiker and Amar Alnoor, who are refugees. Apparently the players were both subjected to verbal abuse in the local town during Easter celebrations, and one of them was also pushed to the ground and beaten.
In a show of solidarity with the players, the club digitally altered their team photo. The reaction to the stunt has been mixed on the club's Facebook account, with some praising the gesture while others were made uncomfortable by it.
