Padraig Walsh pulls the strings as Maynooth hammer Jordanstown
Maynooth 4-23 UUJ 1-7
They won by 25 points but Maynooth couldn’t be accused of taking any short-cuts.
The game was delayed for over an hour after the visitors’ team bus took them to UU’s Coleraine campus instead of Jordanstown.
They were quickly into their stride despite the mix-up, and led 2-10 to 1-7 at half-time having played into a gale-force wind.
The home side failed to score against the wind in the second half as Maynooth’s class told, Kilkenny star Padraig Walsh pulling the strings with 0-5 from play.
Galway’s Brian Molloy was scorer in chief with 1-13; Maynooth need to beat UCC at home next week to advance.
