The Independent.ie Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cup competitions continued today with four games across both competitions.

In Group B of the Fitzgibbon Cup, four second half goals from Conor Cleary, Kevin McHugh and a brace from Sam Conlan helped NUIG overhaul a three-point half-time deficit to defeat St Patrick's Campus Drumcondra by 11 points.

Christy Breathnach pulled a goal back late on but it wasn't enough to effect the outcome.

In the Sigerson Cup, three second half goals helped DCU to a facile 16-point win over Queen's with the losing team only managing to register three points.

UL and Maynooth University played out a thriller with the Limerick side recovering from an 11-point deficit to force extra time, before eventually pipping their opponents on a scoreline of 3-19 to 4-15.

NUIG footballers had 14 points to spare over Trinity in the only other game of the day. They will play St Mary's in the next round.
