Seamus McEnaney is named as new Wexford manager

Seamus 'Banty' McEnaney will replace David Power Wexford manager.

The Monaghan native will bring considerable experience to the role, and he has managed both Monaghan and Meath in the past.

Wexford had a difficult year in 2016. The county were relegated to Division 4 in 2015, and failed to gain promotion back to Division 3 this year.

Kildare beat Power's team in the Leinster quarter-final, before Fermanagh dumped Wexford out in the qualifiers.

Wexford have been drawn against Carlow in the 2017 Leinster Championship, and All Ireland champions Dublin await the winners.

The Wexford hurlers have also changed their manager recently, with Davy Fitzgerald coming in.
