Alan O'Neill's Kerry shrugged off their Munster final hangover on Saturday to book their spot in the TG4 All-Ireland Ladies SFC quarter-finals.

Waterford, last year's All-Ireland intermediate champions, died with their boots but Kerry had Sarah Houlihan in red-hot form as she struck nine points, seven from play.

Waterford were without the Ryan sisters - Michelle, Louise and captain Sinéad - due to a family wedding and goalkeeper Katie Hannon captained the team.

O'Neill was pleased with Kerry's display but bemoaned some slack defending. "It's a relief to be in the next round and we're happy with that," he said.
