Considering that man walked on the moon before a woman played in Croke Park, the progress made by female athletes since the turn of the Millennium is staggering.

More history will be made this weekend, with the LGFA and TG4 combining to live-stream all four provincial finals worldwide for free via YouTube, starting with defending Ulster champions Monaghan and Division 1 league finalists Donegal on Sunday (3.45), followed by the Connacht clash of Galway and defending champions Mayo, led by legend Cora Staunton (pictured) (4.30).

Both finals will be streamed simultaneously to offer viewers a choice between games, while the Munster and Leinster deciders will be live next weekend in what is one giant leap forward for ladies' football.
